Social Listening: Ring Video Doorbell

Image
The Ring Video doorbell is a product that helps insure people can have a well protected home even when they are not there. When people come up to the door it allows for you to see what is going on and make sure that no one is doing anything around your front door that they shouldn't be. This brand interested me because more and more people keep getting these systems installed with Ring being at the forefront of it all.  People seem to like this brand because when it is doing what it is supposed to it works very well, but there is also the problem of customer support. I went over to Linkedin to check out what people were saying directly onto the posts of Ring, and it was not pretty.  Right now it seems that that Ring is trying to sell their service over any one product. They are trying to tell people that they want you to have a "frictionless" experience with them and their customer service. This doesn't seem to be the case though with many customers, including Andr

Marketing in the News: Pusha T Arby's Ad

There is a new Ad for Arby's and the only way to describe it is unconventional. I haven't heard about or thought of Arby's in years because it wasn't a place that would come to mind when I wanted to go out to eat, but when I saw this Ad, Arby's was definitely on my mind.      This ad doesn't just try to make you want Arby's, it specifically does not want you to eat at McDonald's. The whole advertisement is directed at McDonalds and how there fillet-o-fish is something nobody should want to eat. What brought forward this assault on McDonalds though is the fact that Arby's has a new fish sandwich that they want you to try. While showcasing there new sandwich they didn't just happen to have McDonalds in there crossfire, the whole ad was made to attack McDonalds even down to the person rapping the ad. At the forefront of this ad, is none other than the rapper Pusha T, who if you didn't know, wrote the "I'm Loving it" jingle f

My First Marketing Blog

About Me-      Hello! My name is Nathan Bean and I am 19 years old. I am on my 1st year here at LBCC and it is my 3rd term. This is my first time taking a marketing class besides a little marketing unit in a high school business class. This course was put into my schedule by my advisor, but that doesn't mean I am not excited to take it! I'm hoping to learn more about marketing and continue to learn what I want to do in business. Business is what I am hoping to major in but I do not know what type of business I want to major in. While I am in this marketing class I hope to learn more about how marketing can help effect businesses whether that be positively or negatively. My time isn't all spent with school though, outside of college I enjoy to watch movies and tv shows and try to watch them as much as I can. New movies or tv shows are always something that get me excited and leave me something to look forward to.
